This field survey was to check extent of tidal fluctuations in the eastern side of Bago Region as shown below in Figure 1. The focus was primarily on the flood protection structures installed in the area connecting the Bago River Basin to the sea through Sittang River and Gulf of Martaban. The field survey was participated by University of Tokyo (UTokyo) and Yangon Technological University (YTU) with coordination by SATREPS project coordinator at YTU and members of the Irrigation Department. The entire field survey was conducted from February 21-24, 2016.

The first day of the field survey was dedicated for deploying the pressure sensors at three sites (Thilawa port, Yangon port, Excel River View Hotel). This was the same site previously selected and observed during the field survey from 26th to 30th of October 2016.At Excel River View Hotel, a camera observation was also deployed for observation. All of these observations was set to get observations from 22 February 2016 to 24 February 2016.
